27.04.23. All cages must have a waterbowl attached to the inside of the door of the cage. Failure to provide this will result in a cage rejection and the pet will not be able to fly in that cage.

22.03.20 Air NZ Cargo has strict rules on Airline approved cages. The cages below do NOT meet IATA requirements, even though they are being sold as Airline approved. Please ensure you dont turn up for check in with the agent with one of the following cages as your pet will be rejected for its flight and this will be at your expense.

This cage has no ventilation at the back and you could cause structural weakening if you try to put holes in it.

19.08.20 Pet Travel will only now be accepting flights 3 days out from the date of departure, and this will be only if there are no government announcements pending during this time. We are extremely busy trying to get as many pets booked to fly where possible, with very limited flights available. Please be patient with us. We may not be able to get the flights you have requested.

19.08.20 Due to the current covid situation in New Zealand, Air NZ Cargo are not confirming/rejecting bookings until 24hrs out from the departure date.

12.08.20 11.35pm.  ALL PET FLIGHTS NOW REQUIRE AND AGENT TO LODGE AND COLLECT THE PETS FROM AIR NZ CARGO.  THIS WILL INCUR EXTRA COSTS.  SEE OUR SERVICES PAGE FOR UPDATED INFORMATION.  IT IS UNKNOWN HOW LONG THIS WILL BE FOR.

12.08.20 10.45 DUE TO THE DEVELOPING SITUATION OF COVID19 IN NEW ZEALAND, WE WAITING INSTRUCTION ON WHAT IS HAPPENING WITH FLIGHTS FOR PETS DOMECTICALLY WITH AIR NZ CARGO.  WE WILL POST HERE AS SOON AS WE HAVE AN UPDATE.

24 July 2020. Pet Travel requires a booking to be made a minimum of 48hrs out from the departure date, where an agent is required.

07 July 2020. There has been an increase in Air NZ Cargos prices post covid19.  Plus there is now a requirement for a known customer to check in all departing flights.

If you are a breeder and a regular client of Pet Travels, we are now able to make you a known customer, if you qualify, so you can lodge your own pets again.  There is an application that has to be completed.  If you wish to apply for this, please email Carla on bookings@pettravel.nz.

As of 04 May 2020, there has been a price increase on flight bookings with Air NZ Cargo. The new prices are on our services page.

Air NZ Cargo is not confirming bookings until 72 hours prior to the date of departure. This is out of our control, so please be patient with us, as we will have your booking confirmation to you as soon as we get it.

As of the 1st of July 2019 Air NZ Cargo will be utilising electronic airway bills to accept and lodge all cargo.

This will change the way we check our pets in.

From the 1st of July you will be emailed an electronic shipping label which you will be required to be presented along with your pets upon check-in.

You will also get the documentation that is required to be filled in at check -in.  You may choose to print these out and fill it in prior, to speed up the check-in process.  If you are unable to do this then these forms will be available at check-in to fill in.

To retrieve your shipping label please follow the below steps.

  1. Once you have your email from CPSOutboundmailing, please click on “Click here for shipping label”.
  2. Please read the instructions and once you have done this click Yes, I accept these conditions.
  3. Then click on submit, and you will have a box that pops up to say please print this page.  Please click “close”.
  4. Now from your browser you can go ahead and print your shipping label.  With the printer functions on your computer you choose to print all pages or just the first page which is your actual shipping label. 
  5. You can choose not to print the shipping label, but if you do this, then you must be able to show the shipping label on a mobile device.  This will be the only other way that you will be able to present your shipping label for check-in.  So if you have no shipping label printed or available on your mobile device for the Air NZ Cargo person to see, you will not be able to be checked in.

Please note that the check-in time for all pets is 90 minutes prior to the flight departure time.  No exceptions can be made for late arrivals.
